Job Purpose
Communication Officers are responsible for creating communications content on behalf of an organization. They do everything from writing press releases to developing blog content and creating social media posts. They also track campaign analytics and maintain digital media archives. Strong writing and analytical skills are the most essential qualities for this role. Familiarity with the best practices of common social media platforms is also an asset for this position. Successful Communications Officers typically exemplify superior time management skills are creative thinkers and work well in a team setting.
A marketing consultant is responsible for defining marketing strategies, identifying the most appropriate message, and executing these strategies for businesses. They study the company profile and operations to understand its marketing needs and conduct marketing research to identify industry trends and commercial opportunities. Marketing consultants are up-to-date with trends in social media marketing, online marketing, and direct response marketing
S/he is accountable for supporting specific research and content development analysis, tracking policy developments relevant to the project, participating in strategy development and execution.
The post-holder will usually be proactive, creative, outspoken, and optimistic with a preference for achieving outcomes in collaboration with others. You will have a result-oriented approach and propose ways to innovate and continuously improve our communications products, practices, channels and messaging.
Responsibilities and Duties (Skills):
- Develop, write and edit marketing and communications materials, including press releases, blog posts and social media content
- Promote communications and marketing materials through appropriate social digital channels
- Track analytics and create reports detailing successes and failures of communications campaigns
- Ensure that all communications and marketing material aligns with brand standards
- Maintain digital media archives including photos and videos
- Leading and managing campaigns and other marketing communications initiatives with content design, copywriting, and proofing.
- Work with other organization team members to conceptualize and implement communications strategies and campaigns
- Respond to media inquiries and perform media outreach to achieve brand placement in publications
- Develop escalation protocols for managing communication crises, should they arise
- Contribute to the execution of marketing and annual sales plan.
- Assist the Marketing Manager in managing the department’s activities, including preparing budgets and monitoring expenses.
- Attend and participate in marketing operations or events to increase brand awareness.
- Establish and implement advertising and promotional campaigns for products or services on various media (social, print, etc.).
- Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to boost the effectiveness of marketing strategies and improve the company’s presence.
- Track and record all marketing activities, implement metrics to evaluate their success and amend marketing measures when necessary.
- Create and oversee the distribution and publication of content or marketing materials.
- Help develop customer research databases.
- Recognize, study, and assess market patterns, competitor offerings and demographics to identify opportunities for promotion and growth.
- Use research conclusions and analysis to determine the overall direction on upcoming marketing projects, new services or products and the overall strategy.
- Conduct marketing research to identify industry trends and commercial opportunities
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy according to objectives and budget
- Study company profile and operations to understand its marketing needs
- Provide advice on branding, positioning, communications and other marketing issues
- Develop and nurture long term relationships with in-house teams and external vendors
- Keep abreast of emerging trends and share best practices knowledge and insights
- Possess good knowledge of web (data) analysis and digital market research methods
- Possess demonstrated experience as a marketing consultant or similar role
- Possess in-depth knowledge of marketing principles and best practices
- Possess effective and creative ability in writing proposals and reports
- Possess the ability to think strategically and analytically
- Possess proficiency in MS Office and working knowledge of general industry systems
- Possess strong communication, written, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- Possess Knowledge of desktop publishing software (such as InDesign/Photoshop)
- Possess good time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Possess the ability to use content management systems, and social media platforms
